A town situated in Barnstable County in the state of Massachusetts, Yarmouth has an estimated population of more than 23,800 residents. Made up of three main villages namely, Yarmouth Port, South Yarmouth and West Yarmouth, tourism and brewing have played a major role in the economy of Yarmouth.

The town is home to many fresh water and salt-water beaches, which are accessible to the public and staffed with gate attendants, lifeguards, etc. There are also many playgrounds and parks located throughout Yarmouth offering both adults and children alike with a wide range of opportunities for recreation.

Some of the most prominent ones include Flax Pond Recreation Area, Old Town House Road Park, Sea Holly Park, Reid Avenue Playground, Long Pond, Parker’s River Beach, Wilbur Park and Yarmouth Port Playground, among others. Furthermore, two world-class golf courses - the Bayberry Hills Golf Course and Bass River Golf Course - provide golf enthusiasts with a competitive and excellent golf experience.

Three major routes - Massachusetts Route 28, U.S. Route 6 and Massachusetts Route 6A - all run through Yarmouth. The Massachusetts Coastal Railroad provides freight service and Barnstable Municipal Airport is the nearest airport. As far as education goes, students in the town are served by the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District, which encompasses two elementary schools, two middle schools and one high school.

The town receives 48 inches of rainfall and 16 inches of snowfall per year.
